Game Clients is a custom shell replacement for Windows 10 & 11, specifically optimized for modified OS versions like AtlasOS. It replaces the standard Windows Desktop (Explorer) with a lightweight, controller-friendly gaming interface.
Yes! While it is designed for AtlasOS, it works on any Windows 10/11 installation. However, for the best performance and "console-like" experience, we recommend using it with a stripped-down OS like Atlas.
Absolutely. Game Clients is 100% open source. You can inspect the code on GitHub. All data is stored locally on your machine.
The interface has an "Apps" section where you can add shortcuts to non-game applications (Browser, Discord, Spotify, etc.). You can also launch Task Manager at any time.
Run the GameClients_Return.cmd script included in the folder. This will look for the
original Windows Shell registry key and restore Explorer.exe as your default desktop.
Get GameClients_Beta.zip and extract to C:\Games\GameClients.
Run GameClients_START.cmd as Administrator.
Select option 1 to configure the Shell.
Restart PC. Welcome to your new Gaming Shell.
